The Sandwich Water District's Board of Water Commissioners believes in the importance of educating our youth, our future leaders of tomorrow, on the merits of protecting and conserving our water supply.

The Sandwich Water District continues its Water Education Program with more than 250 fourth grade students from the H.T. Wing and Oak Ridge School participating in our poster contests.

WATER EDUCATION HIGHLIGHTS

The Sandwich Water District celebrated it's Thirteenth Year of Water Education Programs for Fourth Grade Students in the Sandwich Schools with more than 200 students from the H.T. Wing and Oak Ridge Schools participating in our annual Spring Poster Contest. The theme “Water - What's the Big Deal” was in celebration of National Drinking Water Week. The students were both creative and educational in their entries. All winners were invited to an awards ceremony at the District Office where they were presented with a Citation from the Massachusetts House of Representatives and a goodie bag with donations from local businesses. The Grand Prize Winner for the 2009 Poster Contest was Camden Baer from the H. T. Wing School. Camden's name has been engraved on the winning plaque which is hanging in his school foyer for the academic year.
